Diamond Grits

Diamond grits refer to the standardized unit used to classify the particle size of industrial diamonds. They play a crucial role in determining the grinding or polishing performance. Lower grit numbers represent larger, coarser diamond particles for aggressive grinding, while higher grit numbers indicate finer particles for smoother finishes. Choosing the right grit size is essential to achieve the desired surface quality in stone or concrete grinding applications.

In stone or concrete grinding projects, we use diamond grinding tools with different diamond grit sizes to achieve varying degrees of glossiness. For metal bond diamond grinding shoes, we offer a wide range of diamond grits to choose from: 6#, 10#, 16#, 20#, 25#, 30#, 60#, 80#, 100#, 120#, 180#, and 220#. The smaller the diamond grit number, the larger the diamond particles, and the rougher the surface achieved. Moreover, lower diamond grits can also be used for removing thin floor coatings.

Optional Bond Types

The bond type refers to the metal matrix that holds the diamond grits in place on a grinding tool. It determines how quickly the bond wears down and how effectively new diamonds are exposed during the grinding process. A softer bond wears away faster to expose fresh diamond particles, making it ideal for hard concrete surfaces. Conversely, a harder bond wears more slowly and is suitable for soft or abrasive concrete.

Very Hard(VHB), Hard(HB), Medium(MB), Soft(SB), Very Soft(VSB), and Extremely Soft(XSB).
